Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc - Zeta Rho Chapter
Iota Phi Lambda Sorority Inc. (ΙΦΛ) is the first African American Greek-lettered business sorority established by African American businesswomen. Lola Mercedes Parker had a dream. On June 1, 1929, that dream became Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc., the first African American sorority for business and professional women. Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. strives to create space for Black women to prosper in the business and professional landscape.
The Zeta Rho Chapter was chartered on October 9, 2022, 2001 Anchor Avenue in Petersburg, Virginia. Their founding members, comprised of women entrepreneurs, non-profit leaders, educators and technology professionals, are ready to share their business acumen with the city.
Their chartering members are:
Sonja Holt, LaTisha Washington, Clarissa Savage, Dr. Shantell Chambliss, Marcy Thornhill, Bianca Stewart-Williams, Melody J. McCormick, Dana Crocker-Farrar and Carmesha Simon.
Their mission is to unite in a sisterhood qualified business and professional women who will encourage, inspire, nurture, and assist persons engaged in business vocations.
